Default Adjusting Fan Speed Bad?

Hey, I have an x800xl and i was concerned because at full load it was getting as high as 60 degrees C. I hadn't checked it before that, so i dont know if that is normal for my card. Anyways... I moved the fan speed from 54 percent to 100 percent using a third party program called rivatuner, and now it maxes out at about 50. But my question is, was there some reason they kept it at 54 percent before, and should I change it back to that speed?

Have you been having problems that you think are heat related?

I don't think the 60c temperature is a problem.

The reason your card came with the fan pre-set at less than 100 percent RPM is to keep it quiet, I guess.
